Monthly Community Business Meeting

On the third Saturday of each month, we have a community business meeting. It is a virtual zoom meeting that begins at 10:00 and ends as 12:00 noon. We take a short break at about 11:00am.

Attending the meeting are the San Diego County CoDA officers, chairpersons, and group representatives. All people interested in attending the monthly business meeting are invited, however, only those designated in our by-laws are eligible to vote on matters. A typical meeting includes reports from officers, chairpersons and group representatives. Following a short break, additional matters may be considered, such as the annual budget, and activity planning.

The zoom link to attend the meeting is:

Meeting ID: 883 4535 8086# passcode: SDCoda or
Zoom.

Twelfth Step Service

Regardless of what step you may be working, there are 12th Step opportunities within our community.

If you are ready to do twelfth step service work, please consider service to the San Diego County CoDA Community. The Community supports the individual CoDA meetings in San Diego County by providing some of the following:

  • Monthly printed and emailed version of the newsletter

  • This web site

  • Regularly scheduled activities

  • Super Seminar Saturdays, a quarterly event

  • Bulk literature and token sales

These benefits happen because someone has stepped forward to give of their time, knowing that service is part of recovery.

There is fellowship and a sense of fulfillment that comes from making an appreciable contribution to something outside of oneself. Some offices, or positions, take less time than others, but become tailored to the needs of the person filling the position.

Opportunity for Twelfth Step work is knocking at your door. Will you answer it?

Recording Secretary
is responsible for taking and transcribing the minutes of the monthly Committee Zoom meetings. The Zoom meetings are recorded, so it’s easy to review the meeting at your own pace. The minutes include summaries of reports, motions and other matters. The minutes from the prior meeting are distributed before the following meeting, at which time they are motioned for approval. This is an important position — and like all community positions, is a great opportunity to practice and build your recovery skills.

Outreach
coordinates the activities of committees which facilitate community outreach by participating at fairs and other local events, and which spread awareness through communication with mental health professionals, creation of classified announcements for the local media, bulletin board flyers, etc.

Alternate Community Representative
performs the duties of the Community Representative in their absence. (see the
Community Contacts page to read the duties of the Community Representative)
